Daigo Umehara vs. Arturo “sabin” Sanchez – The Rematch!
Part 1
Part 2
FINALLY!!!! Sorry for the delay guys, it was completely out of my hands. This match is a runback of THE match of 2009, where Arturo took Daigo all the way down to the last game last round and pulled it off! This time, it again comes down to last game last round, but I won’t spoil it if you haven’t seen it!
This match took place afterhours at Evo 2010 in the NorCal Salty Suite at Caesar’s Palace. Thank you to Machinima Respawn for getting it up on the channel as well as for getting a translator to translate Tokido and Eita’s commentary in part 1. Thank you to Team Spooky for streaming and recording this epic match. Also thank you to the English commentators for this match, Combojack and Chris Hu, whose genius idea it was to have the Japanese commentate for the first half.
If you haven’t seen the first match these guys played last year, check it out below:
Glenn from Get Your Tournament has an awesome statistical breakdown of the match as well. So please check that out if you want an in-depth look at some of the nuances of this match.
Will we see another runback at Evo Japan?!?!? Post in the comments if you would like to see it!

In the later half, JustFrameJames and Rip both come onto the show; the two top Socal Law players discuss about some character specific strategies and their Evo experiences.

Virtua fighter 5 FS location testit alkaneet

New Virtua Fighter 5R Items
This month’s update for Virtua Fighter 5R comes complete with three new items… a Sega Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, and Sega Genesis, all of which are worn on your character’s back. You can also see the prices for each item in the image above, and FYI, those prices are actually the launch prices for each system in Japan!
Nagase UFO closing down
I heard from Kusumondo and Desora that Nagase UFO, a well known arcade in the heart of Osaka, is shutting down. The arcade was known for having Super Turbo on tap for 20 yen (20 cents USD), making it the spot in Kansai to play the game, and it was also frequently visited by many Tokyo players, such as Nuki and Daigo. Kusumondo commented that he had been going to that arcade since middle school, and now that the guy is in his mid-30s, it’s easy to understand why this is affecting a lot of players in the fighting game community in Kansai.
From what I’ve heard, Ko-hatsu arcade in Minami-morimachi have been running Super Turbo tournaments on a frequent basis now, so that may become the new spot to play the game for these players.
July Arcadia Info
The issue has a big feature on Project DIVA Arcade, which stars the popular Vocaloid Hatsune Miku. If you don’t know what that is, check out the Wikipedia entry on it, it’s quite interesting to read about its history. The franchise has even invaded games such as Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker and Virtua Fighter in recent years. Anyway, the feature goes into detail about the Vocaloid history, the Project DIVA Arcade basics, and some of the songs that will be in the title. They also get some people together to play the game in a head-to-head battle.
The next feature is about Border Break 1.5, introducing the new weapons and maps in the game. Finally, there’s the debut of Arcana Heart 3 Heartmatic Expansion, which I’m guessing is an upgrade to the game that’s already out in arcades. (Edit: Heartmatic Expansion is just a huge feature on the game and the characters)
FYI: I haven’t purchased last month’s issue of Arcadia, nor will I purchase this month’s issue, because the content doesn’t really interest me enough to pick it up. By the way, Arcadia magazine now has a Twitter account, so if you can understand Japanese, or want to be kept up to date on their work, follow them here!
